Bill;
I'd nominate Kelly Johnson or Kurt Tank for that title.

Subject: Cheap Aero Reads
For those who like bargain books about great inventors, I just acquired
the 1953 book by Sir Frank Whittle, inventor of the turbojet engine back
in the early '30s, for $6.25 plus shipping, from a Reno, NV book dealer,
off abebooks.com. Sir Frank has been called the greatest aero engineer
of the 20th Century, but there are many who could contest him for that
title. Bill
