Very good point of a vehicle not spinning like the
ball Deb, i never really thought about that. And good
question, Could it be that it's not as relevant
without spinning?
I think(is that considered theory?) the main reason
for the dimples are because, With a teardrop tail
section.... the ball wouldn't roll very well. ;-)
There's alot of thought on loft too as I remember a
teacher in school showing there was now way to hit a
smooth ball of the same material, size and weight near
as far due to it not coming down as fast(we proved you
could break a window with either one). I still think
it has more to do with not being able to find a good
place for an aerodynamic advantage on the backside(?)
of the ball.
Let's hope we don't use a bike to find out(spinning
and landspeed are 2 words that do not go good
together). And yes it was a combination of Corbin and
S&S I think.
