Back in the late '70's .....  Jack Lufkin told me this story

Trying for a little more speed, Jack added alcohol to the ice cubes in 
the 40 gal
cooler tank. Driver turned out at 2... No boost.
On the next try the driver was told to leave the cooler pump switch off 
until  he  saw
10 PSI boost. The car ran out of gear at about 290.(picked up 10+ MPH)
The car eventually flew at about 310 and was never rebuilt.
I don't know what happened to the driver, Jerry Spotts.

Did anyone on the list see the car fly?
