Easiest solution for me would be a SBF (358 cu.in.) SVO Used NASCAR 9:1
engine with a (Wilson or equal) DFI modified intake, Converted to wet
sump, with a street cam would easily get the 550-600 HP and last
forever. RPM range estimated; good idle at 1,200, good torque from 2,500
to 6,500, max HP at 7,200. I would estimate the cost at about $12,500
total, (all new cost $35-$45,000)

It's kinda the same deal we did with the SB2 chevy for Hot Rod Mag. If
that price range doesn't scare him, have him call me and I'll give him
more info.

MPG depends on a lot of variables, if this is for a fire truck, no way
on 20 MPG.

OK I have been ask by someone I work with to pose this question to the
knowledge of the list.
He has given me a few guidlines and limitations on an engine combination
and
would like input from our knowledge base.

Must be Ford
550 HP
2000 Cruise rpm
No nitrous
Can be turbo or supercharged with air to air intercooler
20-25 miles/gallon
No limitation on engine size (can be a stroker)
Fuel Injected
