Hi Folks, just back from a pleasant long ride down through the Dismal
Swamp on the Baby Ninja. It's been chilly and rainy here for a couple
of weeks, but today nice and clear, and warmed up to 70. What more
could you want.
My speed shop pal is creeping forward strongly on the block, crank and
rod work for my blower Ardun. In the meantime, some of the work for the
'Hayseed" blower manifold has been done, but it can't be finished until
the block and Ardun heads are mocked up as they will be used.
The great thing about Dave the Hayseed's Ardun blower manifold is it's
very low, only 2" high inside over the 1/2" bottom plate which also
provides the Flathead valley cover. This means that the engine,
manifold, blower, and a Hilborn Injector, will all go under a stock '32
Ford hood and leave plenty of room for air to go in the injector.
Dave's design was on the blown Ardun he had in Don Garlits' streamliner
that set the 230 mph Bonneville record that still stands. And Dave is
still using it today.
