Just found this update on Landracing.com...
Morning October 17, 2002 - Have some disappointing
news to report in the morning. Nolan White after a 422
mph run had three parachutes fail and about a mile
past the -2 mile marker he rolled the streamliner. A
very scary site lay ahead. Being first on the scene to
attend to Nolan. He was responsive at first couple of
minutes at scene and later lost consciousness, at that
point ambulance crew was there to attend to the 70+
year old driver. No real report on injuries other than
he is breathing and was air lifted to Salt Lake. Car
was destroyed in the wreckage. The SCTA-BNI officials,
fire and ambulance crews worked 1st rate to get Nolan
out of the car and in the ambulance. And it was truly
and amazingly efficient work of harmony. Please say a
prayer for Nolan and his family who have been racing
there for 30+ years.
