On Saturday I was fiddeling with my holley carb for the umpteenth time
trying to get the car to leave smoothly off the line. I played with the
power valve and the accelerator cam and changing squirters. But what fixed
the problem was that as I was changing the squirter again the gasket between
the squirter and the carb fell in to the venturi and got sucked into the
engine. It backfired once and ran beautifully after. It seems that whoever
assembled the carb at Holley put the wrong gasket there and since I have
never used one before I never dreamed it copuld be assembled incorrectly so
I kept putting the gasket back. The car absolutly rips now.Wish I could take
credit but it was a repair by mistake.
