Glenn, Also not a chemy, just an observer. In the early days of the mud drags
in this area, I saw many BBC pistons w/missing sides, broken pins, and head
gaskets blown four ways. Impressive! Most guys were just dumping " a bunch"
of toluene in the tank and hope for the best.Acetone, benzene, and most
anything else that would burn and was available was used with the results
generally catastrophic. Most these guys I've switched to meth. Lately
propylene o has been the additive of choice. Fuel tank explosions occur
occasionally. Guess all these things will work if used correctly. Knowing
what that is, is the trick. Amaco used hydrofluoric-sp- to make the early
super unleaded, and boosted octane 2 pts, but discontinued that because of
the particularly nasty effects it has on the body(human). Meth and eth are
the way to go. Drink the eth and burn the meth!
Happy mixing, BB

here were availible in the plant and I have heard many storys about
"expeiriments" that the local hotrodders conducted with some of the stuff
that they "barrowed" from the plant. I was an engineer, not a chemist so I
am not much help. Bernie (BB) was building engines for some of those guys so
he may be able to shed some light on this subject.-------------Bernie???????
