Thanks for the note. I've also used it to seal Corvair cases as well as
pushrod tubes.
We used Hylomar to seal a Hewland transaxle in the McLaren and it was really
great for at-the-track gear swapping. The magnesium case sections separated
easily and the old Hylomar was simply wiped off with MEK-- no scraping. A
little bead of Hylomar was squeezed out of the tube, smeared on the case
flanges with a fingertip, and the cases were bolted together again, leak
tight! The brilliant blue color lets you know where you might have missed a
spot, too.
