Hi Folks, we made it back home from CA safely, courtesy of United
Airlines. Had a great time visiting my racer friends out there. I've
gotta tell you the Speedway Museum at Indianapolis is a wonderful place
to visit, worth a trip. You'll see an original Miller 91 and other
early American racing engines, and many Indy 500 winners of all eras.
For the mc fellas, even a stone stock like-new '62-'63(last ones made,
the final development) Manx Norton someone donated, certainly one of the
greatest, most successful long-distance road-racing machines the world
has ever known, a jewel in the British crown. I could spend many happy
days in this museum. Its collection is beyond price. And imagine,
admission is only $3 a head!
The Indianapolis Speedway is a class act in every respect; the museum
displays are presented in their original patina, not over-restored as is
too often the case in today's chrome-n-polish world, but all nice and
clean. Even the burgers in the snackbar are wholesome! Bill
