We have about 8 runs on our MT 26 x 18's in the 230-270 range and the only
sign of wear is the diagonal strip where the tread rubber is but joined on
the circumferance. No cords seperating though only a white stripe about 3/16
of an inch wide. On the old Firestone bonneville tires we used to run them
with cord showing (these were 10 ply tires mind you) by trimming the threads
with a razor blade.
