I am one of a number on this list who will once more be staying at home and
will have to 'watch' what is happening at Bonneville Speed Week 2002 on
landracing.com thanks to Jonathan and his daily reports.
Racers on this list going to the event will be leaving home early next
week, so I thought it right to wish you all well on your journeys to
Wendover and during the event, now rather than at the last moment. Enjoy
every part of the event. I will be thinking of you and remembering my
previous visit in '98 and the 19 days with the 'bike in '99. Racers at the
200mph club banquet can raise a glass to the British racers being inducted
as Honorary members for their past speed deeds - Henry Segrave (1st 200mph
record) ,Malcolm Campbell (1st 300mph record) and John Cobb (World record
holder and first one way 400mph pass).
Someday this Brit will put in an appearance at the bend in the road Salt
Talks just to liven things up - Keith can probably invite the local police
force to make the event as hospitable as Maxton racing!
I will miss the heat and the intense white brightness out there...
