Someone asked what I did to prep the bare metal... I was so busy doing it I
didn't have the time to answer....
1. Take it to Russ Meeks.... Finishline coatings...( this is my first choice
but here is what I really did )
2. Metal conditioner from the paint shop... dilutes with water and goes
forever... but has an interesting aruoma ( reminds me of our beloved Cheif
timer.... it smells like an OLD FART )
3. Metal etching Primer from the paint shop
4. body gook.... in Firm... this is a seam sealer you know that junk that
looks like tar ... it's great to act like a caulk...( pronouced Corking down
here by some painters... ( took me two days to understand that guy... huh?
Cork? you mean Caulk.... No I'm gong to use Corking... ahh okay )
5. Two Coats of Rustolem brushed on with a combination of foam brushes and a
long handled china bristle..... and spray can's for the Deep Cracks....
it took 7 days to get the whole underside, trunk and interior painted
whew.... but it's done and looks like I did it with a Brush.... bet it don't
slow me down....
