SEE HISTORIC USS MISSOURI VIA COMPUTER
For people who can't get to Pearl Harbor or don't have the
physical ability to negotiate stairs when they get to the
berthed site of the USS Missouri, the ship's memorial
association has installed a series of Web cameras. The
Pacific Business Journal is reporting that the first four
of the cams are now up and running. If all goes well,
during the next two years a total of 100 tiny cams will
be installed in and around the vessel, which was used as
the "floating surrender platform" for the signing of the
treaty with Japan at the end of the Second World War.
The "Mighty Mo" is permanently "parked" at Pearl Harbor
in "Battleship Row." Check it out at ussmissouri.org on
the Internet. By the way, because of the importance of the
vessel in Japanese history, the Web site is also viewable
with Japanese language characters.
