Another possibility: Try a Microsemi 6A10MSCT-ND, available from Digi- Key
1-800-344-4539  or www.digikey.com

It's a 6 amp 1000V axial- lead silicon diode.  Price is around $1

 from the description and the number, I would venture a SWAG.

  RL257 = 2.5 amp 1000 volt silicon diode in a R-3 molded plastic body
