Let me add my regrets to the passing of Grey Baskerville. I might not be in
this sport if not for his dedication to Bonneville and hot rodding. I grew
up in No. Hollywood, Cal.. During the fifties, like a lot of kids, I had a
roadster and enjoyed going to the drags at San Fernando. When I was 25, I
moved to Guam and for the next 20 years didn't do much with cars. Guam is
not exactly the hot rod capital of America. I did read Hot Rod magazine
though. I particularly enjoyed Grey's view of the sport. In 1990, I read a
little piece on landspeed racing. A picture of a Studebaker at El Mirage
caught my attention. I never had considered racing at Bonneville. I did have
a high school friend, the late Tom Senter who did it, though. I decided with
the reading of the article to go to B/V. Eleven years later, I,ve raced
there, made lots of friends, and even set a record and got in the 2 Club.
Thank you, Gray. I wish I,d thanked you personally. Terry Hunt, Guam Bomb,
