dave
we poor Aussies seem to be suffering the opposite situation to you poor
yanks,we have dozen's of humungous pristine salt lakes ( its a real shame
that the famous bonnieville is getting a little thin on top, sincerly hope
your save the salt is successfull) a massive number of DLRA members 300 or so
and that includes 20 Americian and other non Australian members ' probably 35
vehicles and bikes at each meet ( ask Doug Odom about it)NO waiting NO long
lines and as many runs as you could possibly want' lifes a real bitch aint it.
We are actively seeking publicity to estabilish a solid membership base so we
can grow ( or should we keep it a jealously guarded secret ? ) , you could say
we are were you yanks were in the time of Ab Jenkins ( what a racer ) now the
down side we dont have all the creature comforts you guys ( better use yank
speak ) seem to accept as normal motels, pools casino's right next to the
salt ,we have to rough it , its BYO everything all the members wether racing
or not have to pitch in and assist in the general running of each meet , which
means turning up a week before and staying a week after each meet we are
litteraly in the middle of nowere . In Australia LSR is strickly amateur,
tough very expensive and largly unknown outside of LSR circles , Dave if this
is the way you like it ,tell all of your mates and come on over we realy do
like our sepo cousins honest
ps I might have sent a draught copy of this tome by mistake
