Russ,
You have raised the most important subject:
SAFETY.

Some will say that if the driver screws up then he gets what's coming to him.
Or, if they can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
Taking that approach, all drivers should wear only pants and a T shirt and
fire systems should be banned.
If the engine blows and burns them, then they should just learn how to build
more reliable engines or not push them so hard or stay home.

I believe that enough cars are now capable of 300+ MPH that it is time
to recognize reality.
If the odds of a 300+ problem are 1 in 20 and we only have 3 cars at a meet
that can go over 300 (1985) then we can afford to pretend the problem
doesn't exist and make macho comments about it.
When there are more than 20 that can go 300+ then denial is not a viable
position for us to take, in my opinion.

I hope that it will one day be required when running over 300 MPH along with
any other safety improvements that become available.

Thanks Russ,
Bryan
