I prefer the message boards. They allow easier categorization of technical
discussions and I don't have 65 e-mails on monday when I ignore my mail over the
weekend. The issue is the cost of Message board software and the administration
thereof. Webmaster, Group moderators, etc... usually volunteers. The BIG problem
with message boards is FLAME WARS! unavoidable; then you have the wannabe jokers
etc...I fthe SCTA and/or ECTA were to sponsor this it could open things up.
