!. The speeds are measured at the 3rd mile through the 3 1/4 and through
the end of the 3rd mile. This gives you a two mile build up and a measured
mile for the qualifying time. The 1/4 mile trap is a qualifier for the long
course. To run the long course you must exceed 175 mph in the 1/4 mile trap.

The long course is the same except you are clocked through each of the three
miles 3 1/3, 4 & 5. the last mile has a 132 foot trap at the end (terminal
speed ) and is not allowed for a record, only information.

A record has to be set in the fastest mile on two runs. If the 3-4 mile is
the fastest both runs that is where the average is taken. If running two
directions the same piece of real estate must be used.

You can pre enter at speedweek or on arrival, late entries cost more.
Finding a place to stay is usually done the prior year for the following.

The log book is a reference tool to make sure the car has been inspected at
each meet and anything wrong has been corrected. At speed week expect a lot
more inspector to look at the vehicle.
