Two things go hand in hand:
1) When something goes wrong, it's usually ONE thing that's gone wrong. We
gearheads tend to out-trick ourselves when seeking solutions to mechanical
problems. For example, Keith, no amount of jetting, plug heat ranges, plug
wires, and duct tape will cure a cracked cylinder wall.
2) When testing, only change one thing at a time. Learn the scientific method.

I have never asked Everyone on the list to respond to a question.... But
this is one time I would personally appreciate each and everyone of you
responding to this question. Those of you who don't write to the list can
respond to me personally. But Please take a few minutes and ponder the
question... don't be hasty.... BUT Please respond. I value your thoughts.
( yes this includes you Digest folks)
The question in a nut shell is this..... " What is the one BEST piece of
advice you have ever recieved about working on or around cars?" Think
about it.... this would be the time someone said something and it clicked a
light on for you... there are no parameters for the question really... it
might even have been outside the actual field of automotive endevor... but
it's going to reflect how you work on cars. How you prepare your car or how
you race it.
The obvious reason I am asking is that I want your knowledge... I want to
learn from all of you what you think is important or what you have learned
of value.... Don't Under estimate yourself.... Each of us has something to
add..... and I do have a list of names of folks who get this list.... I am
not going to call out personally those of you who didn't respond.... but
it's time to give something back to the list....
Even if you hear your response from someone else.... write it anyway... but
write it your way.... Keep in mind spelling don't count.... it's content
here we are after....

Lincoln's diary as a young man )
