Hi everyone,
we got back home from Speed Week a few days ago (my wife Mariateresa
and I) and just wanted to say hi and THANKS to everyone on the list
we met during Speed Week (with a pecial mention to the Amo's, Glen
Barrett and Chris Shearer!), but also to those we did NOT meet, or
met without knowing who they were: Speed Week may be a week long, but
it's over well before one has had the time to do and see everything
and everyone!!! Too much all at once, specially for somebody who can
only make it to Bonneville once in a (fairly long) while!!
Well, we really had a great time, made new friends, took lots of
photos and new measurements (new models coming...!) and, more
important, witnessed some impressive racing. I know many of you do
not care too much for it because it does not scream, but I DID
scream, and loud, when I heard the Turbinator speed!!
Hope nobody will object, though, if my pick-of-the-week is Carl
Heap's The Phoenix. Ok, it's diesel, it's a truck, but... 251 MPH (a
record, not just a top speed!!): chapeau!!!
And, most important, the SCTA/BNI staff performed once again an
absolutely outstanding and professional job, which in my view is the
best compliment I can think of for a volunteer group! And with a
meeting that is growing every year....
Ok, now it's back to the usual stuff here, Ferrari, Schumacher and
all that, how boring...
All my envy for those who will go to WOS...
