Scott, all new cars take a barometric pressure reading during the time it
takes for you to turn your ign key from off to crank. The engine management
computer also takes a reading any time you need to floor the throttle pedal
to accelerate. This compensates for changes in altitude that effects engine
power output due to the air ratio decreasing in O2. I would have to say
yes, baro has a direct bearing on carb setups. Hope this helps, Tony
