On Wednesday, July 4, ThrustSSC designer Ron Ayers suffered a mild heart
attack on his way to Farnborough to work on his plane.
Everything is fine, though he is still in hospital undergoing tests and being
monitored. The doctors are pleased by his recovery thus far and general
state.
Ron was scheduled to co-host a special program at Speedweek with me this year
with the Society of Automotive engineers. However, as you might realize, the
strain of a long flight and a wild week in Utah would not be conducive to his
recovery. So Ron has decided to
cancel this trip. I have asked, and Glynne Bowsher, ThrustSSC Chief Mechanical
Engineer to fill-in and he has accepted.
Mark on your calendar for Monday August 13th, to attend the free presentation
of how they built and ran the world's fastest car. To be held in the
Bonneville Room at the Stateline hotel and casino.
