Schedule 40 PVC will hold the pressure all right, but the problem is that it
is brittle. If the pipe gets smacked with something while under pressure, it
can explode, sending PVC shrapnel all over. There are companies that make
plastic pipe specifically for air line uses. If you are going to use PVC, it
might be a good idea to use Schedule 80 at least. It will still be brittle,
but at least it has a thicker wall.

Has anyone had a problem using Schedule 40 PVC for shop
air at 125 PSI?
Thanks in advance,
Bryan
