I got bored the other night and slapped a tape of
"The California Kid" into the VCR to watch it for
- - - oh, about the fiftieth time. (When you
keep dozing off, it takes at least twenty times
to finally see the whole movie! ha ha
After so many times watching it, I still made two
"new" observations.
1. The '34 has an SCTA sticker on the
windshield.
2. When the kid gets stopped for speeding at 38
MPH in a 35 zone, and the sheriff insisted he was
clocked at 40mph, the kid looks at the sheriff's
tires and blames the speedometer error on
oversized (wheels). Hmmm, think about that. If
they were oversized, and the sheriff clocked the
34 at 40 mph, then the coupe must have been going
even more than 40 - not less!
I just recently had a Texas State Tooper
re-inforce the science of oversized tyires make
your speedometer read less than your actual 84
MPH!
