Can't see that a heavy flywheel could hurt top speed runs, might even
help. As far as I'm concerned the only reason for a light flywheel
would be for quick engine RPM, which would not be an advantage for long
course runs. We did use a 38 lb. flywheel on the Desoto in the 1/4 mile
to help carry the RPMs off the starting line.
