Bruce, as far as I know (which isn't very far) the first true one hp/cuin Chrysler engine was the 1962 413 max wedge cross ram big block with 420 hp, there was a limited production 273 cu/in A series small block in 1966 with a "claimed" 275 hp and of course in 1964 the (everybody raise your glasses)426Hemi was introduced with various differant hp figures claimed (it was available with 12.5 comp),that's the extent of my limited knowledge.
