Doug and the LSR List members and World Recird List,
According to the list members from the USA who kicked this topic around
courtesy of this list and Jon Amo's, it must be a missed opportunity for
all 'average racers' (in the USA) - those who do not have a chance at a
BNI International or FIA International 'World' record or FIM International
'World' record, because they do not run a streamliner or lakester under
SCTA rules. And these are people who run at SCTA administered events.
I have to say that it is a lost opportunity for many other countries of the
world, who could have had an Internationally accepted (by the racers and
their organising groups) form of racing to compete in.
Perhaps It is also a loss for those who would be pleased to have an
extended peer group outside the USA.
But, it appears that something arguably "better" is not wanted, inspite of
many open minds ......... so the FIA & FIM remain the only International
bodies for all countries and (inspite of the contention by others) for ALL
racers - should you build a quick enough vehicle they do not care what it
looks like.
