I agree Rick, that A8 is great stuff.
I had to try real hard to get A8A to detonate. I finally
succeeded when (due to ignorance) I screwed the waste gate closed.
It was a return run on 8-23-89 (everything was real warm from the
down run about 90 minutes earlier), the engine was a Kawasaki 1000
with a basic draw through Rajay into a log intake W/O cooler.
It had 7.8 CR, 35 advance and ran fine until just past the 2
in 6th gear. 3 & 4 piston got hurt. Planned boost was 25 which
I believed was on the edge, 24 was working good, but it went to
28 which was too much even for ERC's stuff.
The pressure of those immediate return runs can fog minds.
I'm looking forward to the current system which will give
me more time to think/reason through things and hopefully
reduce my mistakes.
