USFRA Treasurer Hugh Coltharp just got back from his "maiden voyage" to a
swap meet in Southern California in his new GMC truck with the largest new
big block the General makes. It's gas powered but he reports no drop off of
power or need to down-shift where his relatively new Ford truck really
started to labor. The truck is a two wheel drive, 3/4 ton with the full
length bed and a small topper. He got better gas mileage than the Ford and
was very happy with the torque it produced. Got a good deal through my
brother-in-law on the purchase. Clean cash deal, no trade in, about a 10%
savings and he was able to spec out the order the way he wanted it.

He has the Ford for sale ... exceptionally clean, meticulously maintained,
and white as salt (although it has never been on the salt at Bonneville) ...
he uses his $100 Honda trail bike for that. You could have seen it at the
end of the access road.
