Thanks, In talking with my uncle (Ted on the list) he ran in '46 with a Crager 4 cylinder in the same car (98mph) He then converted it to the '42 Merc flathead and ran it that way in 1947 (119.47). The car was a 29 roadster pickup that bears a remarkable resemblance to the car that Larry Shinoda is pictured with in the Vern Tardel book, How To build a Traditional Ford Hot Rod on page 9. If anyone knows what color that car was it could help us determine if, in fact, it is the same car. |
