Jim Thomas was not the driver of the Opel that crashed at the end of Sunday.
Tim Confel was making his second run in the car. Apparantly, the car has had
handling problems all year and Tim was helping them try and locate a
solution.
He mentioned to me just before the run that the car was lifting the front
end so he removed the spoiler plate to try and unload the rear end. Jim had
made new weight boxes which came apart and exited out the rear window. The
boxes were filled with concrete!! NOT a good idea. Anyway, Jim Miller drove
Tim and Sheri"s rig home to the shop then Tim went on to the Kaiser facility
in our area. Before leaving the lakebed Tim was walking around, well limping
and moving slow, with a black eye and many soon to be sore body parts.
