List; Because we are going to Australia the first of next year we were
going to take the body off and clean and inspect everything. Well I went
and tipped the damn thing over and really messed up the body. We are
going to straighten the body out starting tomorrow. Today we took down
the frame jig and fixtures and measured the car. I know how hard it hit
(I was inside) but it did not bend anything in the frame or roll cage at
all. The body took all the abuse. The right front axle was broken from a
bad weld (not enough penetration). When I built the car the rules were
110" wheelbase max. So that's what I built. The next year they went to
130"s. So now that I have the car down to the bare frame I'm going to
make it 130". Now the next part is my own personal feelings and you can
take them or leave them. I don't like a spool in soft ground. They tend
to move the car around when you get on and off the gas. I have run 204
MPH at Muroc in the dirt with an open rear end. If you do run a spool be
sure and measure the roll out of the rear tires. It has to be the
same! Doug Odom in big ditch
