The NASCAR guys use Nitrogen in there tires, accoreding to a response from a fan question, "because it is more stable. Air contains water wapor in quantities that are different every day. This makes control of pressure extremely difficult. So we use nitrogen to eliminate that." This was a paraphrasing since I am old and cannot remember much. But the main reason was water vapor (i.e. humidity). Just another thought. mayf |
