A rather lengthy and interesting dissertation.... one could find the same information in any of a thousand FAA/ASE treatises on the subject. Aircraft tires have been serviced with nitrogen for years, mostly for the very same reasons he specifies. Nitrogen remains far more stable at extremes, and tire pressures tend to remain within spec over a wide range of temps and altitude. Mark Childers P Eng VA Beach VA |
