Keith, Dick J, List,
Interesting concept, the sunscreen/sticker thing. Maybe even a bumper
sticker for our trailers/tow vehicles. (Some folks might either prefer no
stickers on their car, or have no room left for any more) I think with a
few exceptions, most of us drag some sort of trailer for hundreds or
thousands of miles to get to events. Imagine how much exposure a catchy
sticker could get in that distance from the gawkers that pass us.
This internet thing must not just be a fad. WWW's seem to be everywhere.
I've even got a plug for www.roadsters.com (home of ECTA's site) on the USS
Wankel. A little bit of exposure in print can go a long way toward sparking
BIG interest in something. It wasn't too long ago that Keith and I were
pretty much talking to each other on this list, and doing all we could to
spread the word. Then Wendy Jeffries gave it a little bit of ink in BRN and
things really started to happen FAST. (Just the way we like it! Thanks Wendy!)
My next thought was right along the same line as Keith's, how about
selling the things and donating a portion of the profit to help support the
list. That'd sure help out the occasional list fund drive for new hardware.
(Though I understand that went well, thanks to all the willing contributors
who want to see this list grow) OK, how about some list T-shirts or hats?
That'd identify us when we're away from our rigs. Might help Keith keep the
sun off his neck if he had three hats to wear at the same time! Perhaps a
button or pin to attach to our own special hat. I pick up stuff at every
event to support something or other, and this list is certainly a worthy
cause.
Kinda like my old rabbit dog, Dinky, I'm a "jump dog." When I see a
rabbit (In this case a Great Idea) and give it a nudge, then I sit back and
see what happens next. I think Dick J has hit on a real winner here. We
can all have fun with it, raise a little money to support the list, and get
the word out to a wider audience if someone can now just grab onto the idea
and make it happen. With the level of creativity on this list we oughto
have a contest for best list t-shirt design. I'll just sit here and listen
for the BANG!
