Group,
My fingers were stumbling around, I guess. The correct times for our
weekend were, 1st run = 195.91 - 195.947 - 192.1.
Just got the dirty stuff unloaded and the race car hosed off, not clean
but the dust doesn't jump on you when you walk past as it did before.
The tow truck washed and vacuumed, that has to be done promptly or my
wife won't let me use it anymore. She likes the to drive the trucks, so
that is her transportation.
Again, I had a great time on our first outing of the year. Margaret,
Jeff and I drove down arriving Friday afternoon, set up the pits and got
the car inspected. Dan and Barry my other two sons and Dan's two boys,
Tom & Tim came in early Saturday morning, so I had lots of help. It was
good that I did have the help for the first thing after firing the
motor, we found that there was a fuel leak at the pump. Unfortunately,
we found a cracked pump housing at the fuel inlet. Dan and Barry got
busy with wax, black tape, epoxy and a hose clamp to correct the
problem.
John, in answer to your quiz, I think I heard that George Potter is the
only member of the four 200 MPH Clubs, there may be 20 or so that are
members of all three West Coast Clubs. It would be interesting to find
out from those that keep the records who the members of the El Mirage
"Dirty Two", Muroc, and ECTA 200 MPH Clubs are so we could compile a
list.
