On this long weekend, traditionally a time for all of us to remember
those who served our great country, in many conflicts, and over many years, I
hope we all give some thought that we owe our very freedom, and enjoy our way
of life, thanks to
all those fellow Americans and their counterparts from allied countries .
Many of them came home safe and sound, and many did not . Even though
it was over 55 years ago, I can remember seeing those blue flags with a gold
star
hanging in windows here and there in my home town . I soon learned each one
represented a son, a brother, a father, who would never reside there again,
except
in the hearts and memories of their families and friends . There were too
many
of these flags, even in this one small town in our vast country .
As we enjoy our barbeques, our family get togethers, our trips, or time
spent in
our garages this weekend, let' s spend some moments remembering those who
served, whether we knew them personally or not . We all owe them so very
much .
To all on this list who served, whether in WWII , Korea , Nam, Desert
Storm,
or a few other engagements, and also those who served in peacetime .........
I would like to thank you all, and say I am proud to be an American, as
I know
you are . Let's all support Rolling Thunder in their efforts to bring
home our
POW / MIAs .
The Price of Freedom
is Eternal Vigilance ..........
