HI BRUCE. IVE GOT A PROBLEM WITH FRAM OIL FILTERS THAT SOMEONE
ON THE LIST MAY KNOW ABOUT. LAST YEAR I REBUILT MY 305CI CHEVY
MOTOR--ALL STOCK INSIDE EXCEPT FOR HIGH PRESSURE OIL PUMP---HAD
BEEN USEING NAPA FILTERS---NO PROBLEM---THEN I FIGURE "FRAM" THE
BEST---WELL THE FRAM LEAKED AFTER 25-50 MILES ON IT USEING 10-30W
OIL---ALMOST DIED WHEN I CAME HOME TO FIND I LOST 1 QT. IN 10 MILES
OF DRIVING---PUT IN #2 ---CRANKED IT UP NO LEAK---SAME MILES LATER---
BIG NASTY OIL LEAK---AROUND TOP SEAM---SENT TO FRAM AND THEIR SPACE ENGINEERS
TOLD ME ITS OK AND SENT ME A HOW TO INSTALL
OIL FILTER WITH 3 FREE ONES!!!!! INSTALLED #1 FREE FILTER FILTER LEAKED
AS BAD AS THE OTHERS----WENT AND GOT NAPA #1060 PUT ON WITH SAME
HAND--SAME WAY IVE BEEN DOING FOR 50 YEARS--NO LEAKS---JUST PUT
NEW NAPA IN WITH OIL CHANGE NO LEAK--PRESSURE RUNS 60LBS COLD
@40 IDLE---IF SOMEONE WANTS 2 FREE FRAM PH30 THEY CAN HAVE THEM
JUST SEND POSTAGE---I WOULD NOT USE ANOTHER FRAM IN ANY ENGINE
UNLESS SOMEONE FROM MARS GOT AN ANSWER.
THANKS JACK EATON
