You shouldn't be ashamed to have tasted the salt. There was a time in
the distant past that there were lots of salt crystals to be picked up.
With the brine pumping, the sparkle is seen again.
Being from the farm in the Mid-West, we used rock salt on our hay when
we put it in the barn to help keep it from heating up if it had too high
a moisture content, we also sucked on rock salt while we worked, it was
suppose to help suppress heat exhaustion. Anyway, I found myself eating
the stuff at the Salt Flats.
