Talked to Jack Costalla this morning. He felt the salt was better than in
Aug. but still bumpy. He had a best run of around 260 he thought when there
was some kind of malfunction behind him. Buy the time he regathered control
of things he had burned off the back half of his car. Not the frame of
course, but the body and electronics, and chutes, and cables and fire system
is used up, tires must have suffered. engine needs inspection but at least it
was borrowed. Jack is as happy as he can be. He loves building cars and being
under pressure. Since he had planed to make the Nov. lakes meet he has lots
of pressure. This would not make me happy but once again different people
like different things. Rich Fox
