Kieth, Have been running my blown altered, or helping with my
buddy, Bob Ragsdales Blast from the Past 53 Stude for the last 6 years. Bobs
car has been powered by a 355 chev.since l994. He has lost a motor nearly
every year. Finally got it right last year, interceder under the 671 blower ,
endrele injection ect.an 200 at the 2 mile with 2,5 gears which is the top of
3rd gear. The krugal firebirds 300 mph blasts forced him to drop down to a
D motor which will not have much of an effect on his performance, so don't
expect that 2l3mph record to last to long. You need to take a look at the
rule book and note the need for higher caliber driving suit, boots and gloves
also more on board fire ext. If you decide to go blown, figure on the best
of everything, a $3000 Bow tie block, high dollar rods, crank and pistons,
dry sump I wouldn't mess with B&Ms blower go to Kuhl or BDS 671 type. If
you want to go Turbo, Dave Parks camaro is a good one to look at as its rather
low tech, but very dependable, Ak Miller helped him a lot with it. Probably
cost less than Bobs setup and a tubo setup especially with EFI probably has
more ultimate performance. Well I've got to go put that old hemi together
and see if it will run again for WOS, it's about l964 technology and on it's
best day won't push the Stude faster than 210mph but it's been 5 years since
I've driven and I need to get some seat time before I warm it up to 1970
technology. Good luck L. Kvach Butters

Thanks Joe.... always appreciate the imput... trying to get the list going
again mostly.... I know where there is a B&M supercharger and I am thinking
about it .. I know the learning curve isn't shallow... but I already built
the car and it Performs as I expected... and the Damn Blown record is 9 mph
slower.. so away we go.... k

wrong move gets expensive in a hurry. Having said that, if you want to take
this next step, my suggestion is to buy a high dollar data recording system
that records boost, exhaust tempertures of all 8 cylinders, water, oil air
tempertures, etc. This info will be vital to your motors well being.

water cooled Blower motors, like Jim Oddy. Jim has a wealth of knowedge and
you can tap into that database when you purchase a new bullet from him.
Some of the boat motor people may be right up your alley, as boats run a
long time like a B-Ville car. I have drag racing experience with a blown
setup but Maxton and B-ville are different. I know I cannot run the lead or
lean mixtures used in dragracing there. Successfully playing with a blower
motor is about knowing how much boost it will take before it eats it self !
My problem was I kept trying to cheat ( that doesn't work )
