Hello Alan

 

If you=E2=80=99re used to production Austin-Healeys you will find the BN3 a=
 challenge and very interesting.

 

There are components from a number of differing Austin cars and parts clear=
ly made by using tin snips and a big hammer. 

 

For instance, last Sunday I spent five hours refitting the radiator, which =
surely after squeezing a six-cylinder engine through a 100 bonnet opening, =
is the second most difficult job with the car. It is not a standard 100 or =
100/6-3000 radiator, but actually the same as fitted to my Healey Duncan Sa=
loon complete with bottom brackets for bolting to the chassis. The radiator=
 itself fits tightly between two vertical uprights beneath the front shroud=
=2E There are no cross braces. A suitable rubber hammer along with a shaped=
 piece of wood. Don=E2=80=99t know how many Austin-Healeys need to have the=
 front wheels removed to fit the radiator.

I sent the cattledog to them. All my orders have included a mix of 100 and =
100/6 parts. Then when I bought a new clutch, it was for a BJ8.

While I am of course in a different country I have been purchasing Austin-H=
ealey parts from AH Spares since 1973 when everything was done by snail mai=
l. Always dealt directly with Fred Draper who was a gentleman

 

Never had any problem. Even last year when they sent +60 pistons instead of=
 the +40 that I ordered, the new set was sent the very same day that I advi=
sed them. AH Spares organised for the pickup of the incorrect set a week or=
 so later.
