Block casting numbers can be tied to the engine number on each block. This =
assumes the tag is still in place.=C2=A0 =C2=A0Those engine numbers (29D th=
rough F and=C2=A0 K) are somewhat dateable and will give at least the model=

All,
Just to take it one step further I contacted BMIHT to see what they know
about these numbers. I finally got a response this morning.
Their reply was that these are casting numbers and not part numbers and
not dateable.
I think that the likelihood is DHMC or whoever (depending on which model
we are discussing) generated standard designs which were passed to the
various foundries who in turn allocated their own number to the design
and produced however many hundreds with the number on. Different
foundries would probably have given it different numbers.
There was no clarification about the logo.
