Simon-note #6 is key. The number on your gearbox. That is a very late=0A=
GB number in your photo. It appears that at some point your car=0Areceiv=
ed a replacement transmission as noted by the Gold Seal paint.=0AThis ap=
pears to be a BJ8 box. That would be why it has a nylon bush=0Aand it is=
 working properly.=0AIf someone has swapped out the shift towers on the=
 MKII GB to a BJ8=0Astyle, than that also would be an indicator of the n=

 =E2=80=9Cbox of bits=E2=80=9D. Inside=0Awas a bag, marked BJ8, which co=

=098) When I ordered a bush for my car as the old one had to be at least=
=0A25 years old, AH Spares sent me the nylon version. This was identical=
=0Ato the one from the =E2=80=9Cbox of bits=E2=80=9D. =0A=0A=09I have to=
 say that I=E2=80=99m flummoxed. =0A=0A=09The Goldseal business may impl=
y that there was a run of boxes coming=0Aout of BMC which were a blend o=
f MkII and III. ie roll pins and nylon=0Abush??? =0A=0A=09When pondering=
 all this, I remind myself that the nylon bush/roll pin=0Asetup worked f=
or at least 25 years, took me all over the place. Even=0Aover the Alps.=
 And is working now. =0A=0A=09If you look at the Ahead4Healeys site, you=
=E2=80=99ll see that they list a=0Anylon alternative, GS 4051, for the s=
ide-shift brass bush, GS4050, and=0Athat nylon _LOOKS_ exactly like the=
 one they list for the centre=0Achange box. They call this =E2=80=9Cfor=
 BJ8=E2=80=9D and make no mention of MkIIs.=0A=0A=0A=09Any ideas? I=E2=
