I don't have a first motion/input shaft to look at, but I don't recall a
flange or step that would prevent the shaft from going fully into the
flywheel (something in the pilot bush hole could, though). However, I'd
want to know why the bush won't go in fully; is it the wrong part, or is
there crud in the hole, or ...
