My dad was so concerned about the 'remote' batteries in our BN2 that we 
used 00 ('double-ought') welding wire with soldered terminals (we had to 
use the blue wrench to get them hot enough to tin the wires and melt the 
solder 'plug' in the terminals). Low resistance, but not very flexible.
