I have used the slave battery technique that Len mentions below several tim=

Some free advice would be much appreciated=E2=80=A6=E2=80=A6.
I am in France, so out of touch with my normal garages/suppliers etc etc=E2=
=80=A6=E2=80=A6Thus more out of touch than usual.
So, my brother-in-law has bought an electric scooter. A fine looking big th=
ing that reminds me of the Honda Spacey that my wife occasionally used abou=
t 25 years ago. A two seater.
This thing is two years old, +/-, so let=E2=80=99s say that the batteries a=
re 30 months old.=20
He bought the bike for =E2=82=AC1 so it was hardly a great investment. (Del=
ivery cost him an expensive bottle of red!).
The batteries seem to be quite dead, useless. I=E2=80=99d call that very od=
d. Apparently the PO was a bit of an ass and didn=E2=80=99t look after bike=
 or batteries at all well.
Nevertheless, stone dead so soon?
I seem to recall a discussion on this list some years back that pertained t=
o similar batteries. Are they dead or merely sleeping?? Plugging in the cha=
rger does nothing. Is there not something clever that one can do to jolt th=
ese things back to life?=20
A new set of batteries is +/-=E2=82=AC1000:00 which seems a bit disproporti=
onate in the circs?
Any ideas would be gratefully received=E2=80=A6..
Thanks,
Simon
