My BJ8 has an original BMC radio, I got a replacement speaker from Radio
Shack (I know, lotta help). I think the dia. was 6" but not sure (it's
about the same width as the radio). But, because it's still positive
ground the music comes out backwards* (Paul IS dead).
Wow, this may be harder than thought; the usual searches don't turn up
much for a 'bare' speaker (you get mostly Bluetooth and stereo
speakers). I think a young(er) person will be really disappointed with
the sound; as they're used to ear buds and headphones.
* Only (half) kidding, of course. It's pretty amazing how some people
have a lot of trouble coming to grips with pos. gnd. My friend who
bought an MG-T keeps calling it 'reverse polarity' which is true enough,
I guess. My BFF who bought my dad's '55 T-Bird--6V, pos. gnd.--finally
came to grips with 'Oh, you just hook up the positive terminal to the
chassis.'
